FA Community Shield: Arsenal Win Over Liverpool On Penalties
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has led Arsenal to yet another title-win as Gunners outlasted Liverpool on penalties to lift the FA Community Shield after playing through the game in a 1-1 draw.
Liverpool nearly refuted the Mikel Arteta-led team to coast to the victory by a lone-goal when Takumi Minamino netted the equalizer in the second half. Unfortunately, Cedric Soares missed a penalty to hand the Arsenal the victory.
Arsenal captain,Aubameyang, gifted his team the opening goal with a superb right-footed curling shot that beat Allison to the goal in the 12th minute. On taking the penalties, the Gabonese launched the shootouts scoring his en route emerging winners by 5-4.
This will be the team's second trophy won under their manager Arteta in his debut season - they won the FA Cup in a 2-1 victory against Chlesea.
