David Silva Returns To Spanish La Liga

David Silva has returned to the Spanish La Liga as a free agent on the expiration of his contract with Manchester City where he had spent a decade of his career.

City is the only club outside of La Liga the midfielder has played for in his entire career and will be so recognized for his contributions to the club with his statue outside of the Etihad Stadium, the club has confirmed.

He left his former club to join Real Sociedad in a two-year deal of an unannounced fee, however, he was reportedly approached by Lazio with a three-year deal worth £9million.

The Italians were disappointed he snubbed their offer following a statement from their sporting director Igli Tare who said in a statement: "I have huge respect for the player, but not for the man."

Silve, during his spell, won eleven silverware including four Premier League titles, having a record of 60 goals in 309 league games appearances.
