Cincinnati Masters: Novak Djokovic Reaches Eighth Semi-finals

Novak Djokovic has booked a place in the semi-final of the Western & Southern open in the quest for his second his title at the tournament.

Jan-Lennard Struff could not but be eliminated by the 2018 champion in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1 for his record-equalling feat of eighth semi-finals appearance at the tour. During the 62 minutes of play, the German could only break once against the world number one who went through the match with five breaks.

The victory brings the top seed closer to his 35th Masters 1000 title that will equal the record set by Rafael Nadal for most Masters titles with 35. Last season, Djokovic emerged as the first player to win all nine ATP Tour Masters 1000 titles in a single season.

"I'm very pleased overall," said Djokovic. "Until that last game I served very well, I was comfortably hitting the spots and getting free points there."

The Serb who is yet to drop a set will face in the semis Roberto Bautista Agut en route his seventh final match appearance in the Western & Southern Open tournament.
