Chelsea Sign Malang Sarr From Nice

Chelsea have increased their signings this summer having completed the transfer of a centre-back player Malang Sarr from the Ligue 1 side Nice on Thursday.

Malang was signed to a five-year deal with Chelsea as a free agent from the French side where he started his football career from at the club's academy.

Chelsa's director Maria Granovskaia in a statement described the signing of the 21-year-old as an "opportunity" the club could not afford not to seize being a player that they have been monitoring his progress for a while.

"The opportunity to sign Malang was one we could not miss," said Maria. "He is a tremendous prospect and we will be monitoring him closely during his loan period, hoping he will be back to Chelsea."

As confirmed by the club, the French player will spend the first season in his contract with Chelsea on a season-long loan before returning to Stanford Bridge.

Just yesterday, Chelsea signed Leicester left-back player Ben Chilwell in a five-year deal worth £50million. In all, the club has completed four signings including Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner this summer.
