Chelsea Sign Leicester's Ben Chilwell For £50M
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Leicester City's defender Ben Chilwell in a five-year contract that was completed on Wednesday.
Leicester previously demanded a fee of £70million from Blues for the left-back but later budged on the price and accepted a five-year deal of £50million for the England international.
"I'm looking forward to being a part of this young, dynamic squad led by Frank Lampard as we challenge for honour next season," said Ben on signing for the club. "I can't wait to get started and hopefully it won't be long we're playing in front of the Chelsea fans at Stanford Bridge.
The signing of the 23-year-old makes him the third signing completed by Chelsea after Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. Also, they have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz's move to Stanford Bridge this summer.
Ben finished this season making 33 appearances in all competitions for Leicester, who dropped off the top four to land in the fifth position that qualified the club for UEFA Europa League next season.
