Barcelona Want To Sign Man. City Defender For £27M

Barcelona have reportedly made known their interest to sign Manchester City full-back Angelino for a transfer fee of £27million.

Angelino is currently on loan to Leipzig with an option in the deal to buy out the Spaniard for £27million but they are faced with a challenge from Barcelona for the defender with the same fee City demanded.

Citizens resigned the player last summer in a £5.3m move from PSV Eindhoven before he was loaned to Bundesliga side RB in January. He has played a vital role in the German making a Champions League semi-final appearances for the first time.

The rumored plan to sell Gerard Pique following the appointment of Ronaldo Koeman to replace former head coach Quiten Setien might have necessitated the club's interest in Angelino. The club president Josep Maria Bartomeu also hinted at a plan to sell some long-serving players.

The need to make critical changes in Barcelona began with the team's 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final which happened to be their worst defeat in the club's history.
