Barcelona Sack Head Coach Quique Setien

Barcelona have sacked their head coach Quique Setien following the club's stunning 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League Last 8 match on Friday.

The loss has been followed with a lot of mixed reactions and Lionel Messi been rumoured to have wanted out of the club. Likewise, Gerard Pique has also broken his silence over the defeat which he described as hitting the rock bottom.

"This is the first decision within a wider restructuring of the team which will be agreed between the current technical secretary and the new coach, who will be announced in the coming day," Barca said in a statement on its official website.

Never before has Barca suffered such a humiliating defeat in their history, setting a new record for the biggest loss in the Champions League after Real Madrid 8-0 win over Malmo in 2015.

Besides dismissing their head coach, Barca also revealed they will be conducting an election for a new president next year in March. However, the election they also revealed will be officially announced in January.
