Barcelona: Ivan Rakitic To Rejoin Sevilla

Ivan Rakitic has secured his return to his former club Sevilla amidst Barcelona's announcement of the need to offload a number of players amongst which he is included. 

The midfielder has opted to take a pay cut of £4million to facilitate his transfer from the Catalan side since the club's new manager Ronald Koeman has made it clear he is not  included in his game plan and will have to leave the club in this transfer window. 

Rakitic whose annual wages at Barcelona is worth a staggering £7million, will reportedly earn £2.7milllion from the deal agreed on with Sevilla. 

Barcelona's massive 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League semis caused huge changes to be made in the club including the replacement of former head coach with Koeman and dismissal of Eric Abidal from his role as the sporting director.
