Television Personality Regis Philbin Passed Away
Legendary television personality, actor, and singer Refis Philbin has passed away from what is believed to be "natural causes" according to his family. He was aged 88.
Philbin, who is a six-time Daytime Emmy Award winner, started his career on NBC Show The Tonight Show in 1955 before anchoring his first and self-styled show The Regis Philbin Show on KGTV (then KOGO TV).
"We are deeply saddened to share that our beloved Regis Philbin passed away last night of natural causes," his family confirmed. "We thank his fans and admirers for their incredible support over his 60-year career and ask for privacy as we mourn his loss."
In 2006, the deceased was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame, three years after he was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
