Saka Busayo Marks New Deal Signing By Securing Victory For Arsenal Over Wolves
Saka Busayo justified his new contract signing with Arsenal by putting the side in the lead en route their 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton as they restored hopes of making a European competition qualification.
Mikel Arteta's men remain unbeaten in four successive games as the club continues to keep hold of its top goalscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who wanted out otherwise they have to meet his demand of a three-year contract of £250,000-a-week wages.
Busayo delivered the opening goal with a brilliant left-footed volley from inside the box from Kieran Tierney's cross before the half time break. Earlier, Gunner's Emiliano Martinez saved Adama Traore's attempt following a fast break.
Just three minutes after Alexandre Lacazette replaced Eddie Nketiah, the Frenchman made a good turn on the ball delivered to him from Joe Willock's cross and slammed it past Rui Patricio, doubling the lead for Arsenal with seven minutes left to play.
Nketiah also came very close to getting a goal for the side before Busayo found the back of the net, but the forward's shot from Granit Xhaka's cross clipped the pole and bounced off.
Traore was not allowed space enough to cause that much threat, yet he was able to stun Arsenal's defense twice in a way that could have got the side an equalizer. Nonetheless, Gunners did well to keep a clean sheet against the side.
Shkodran Mustafi did a lot of the job in the defense for Arsenal so well that he was voted the man of the match and Lacazette also fired up the team for wasted no time to make a difference in the game.
