Premier League: Trezeguet's Goal Saves Aston Villa From Relegation Zone In Win Over Arsenal
Aston Villa are by an inch out of the regulation zone for the first time in five months after beating Arsenal 1-0 at home to earn the needed maximum points.
Arsenal had won straight two matches against Premier League bigwigs - Manchester City and Liverpool - before their winning streak got snapped by Villa from Trezeguet's strike in the first half.
Tyrone Mings had first attempted to put Villa in the lead before Trezeguet slammed a right-footed shot from inside the area that Emiliano Martinez in the 27th minutes following a corner.
Arsenal could have endured a much bigger defeat had Keinan Davis convert a glaring chance that could have doubled the lead for Villa but shot the ball wide. Likewise, Nketiah nearly got an equalizer for Arsenal following a corner by Nicolas Pepe.
Villas were able to keep the scoreline through the game for their second win, though are equal on points with relegating Watford despite the win.
