Formula One: Three Races Added To 2020 Revised Calendar
Formula 1 has included in the 2020 season revised calendar, three more races in Europe amongst which is a debut race event in Portimao circuit in Southern Portugal.
Whilst Mexican and Brazilian Grands Prix have been canceled from the calendar over the widespread of coronavirus infections in these countries, Nurburgring (Germany) and Imola (Italy) received nods to host races in this season.
F1 chairman, Chase Carey, confirmed the added Grands Prix in a statement and expressed his gratitude to the promoters, the teams, and FIA for their support in this "unprecedented time" in the sport.
"We are pleased that we continued to make strong progress in finalising our plans for the 2020 season," said Chase. "And are excited to welcome Nurburgring, Portimao, and Imola to the revised calendar."
Nurburgring is scheduled to host its Grand Prix on October 9-11, Portimao in Algrave, Portugal will make its debut on October 23-25, and Imola will host the third race in Italy on October 31 to November 1.
