FC Barcelona President Says Lionel Messi Will End "Footballing Life" At The Club
It might never happen that Lionel Messi will at some point leave FC Barcelona as the club president has revealed that the player will possibly end his career at the club.
Barcelona is the alpha of the Argentine's career which has been a successful home for him to say the least and the Nou Camp side's president Josep Maria Bartomeu has come out to say that the forward will not only sign a new deal but stay until the end of his career and "footballing life".
There were speculations that the 33-year-old will not renew his contract with the club when it runs out in 2021 and those claims Bartomeu has dismissed to assure the club fans of the player's loyalty.
When asked about the player's future by a Spanish network Movistar, Bartomeu shut down the claims about Messi not willing to stay beyond next season saying, "We are negotiating with many players but Messi has explained to us he wants to stay."
That being said, without a doubt Messi's professional football career will simply end in La Liga and definitely with Barcelona with which he has won the Ballon d'Or six times. However, things might change along the line, mind you, this is football.
Barcelona are in the trail by four points behind Real Madrid in the La Liga title quest as the Bernabeu coast to wrestling the title from the defending champions with four matches left to play.
