FA Cup: Manchester United Dropped Out After Defeat To Chelsea

Manchester United's only hope for a trophy just got dashed by Chelsea in a somewhat disappointing 3-1 FA Cup semi-final loss at Wembley Stadium. 

Chelsea were gifted two goals from Harry Maguire's defensive error and David de Gea's poor goalkeeping inspired by Mason Mount whose shot at the target led to two goals for Blues in the second half. 

Olivier Giroud opened the scoring in the first half with a brilliant by flicking home from Azpilicueta's cross on the brink of the half. It was just a minute after resumption from the break that Mason Mount smashed a six-yard shot past Gea. 

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer tried to give the team a boost by bringing on Mason Greenwood and Paul Pogba still, Chelsea remained vibrant and the best they could get was a consultation converted by Bruno Fernandes 85th minutes after Maguire's own goal had wrecked their hope. 

Though they missed out on the FA Cup title bid, United hope of getting a Champions League hinges on winning their remaining two games - West Ham and Leicester - otherwise, they will join Tottenham in the Europa League games next season. 

After progressing to the final, Chelsea are booked to face Arsenal who defeated Manchester City 2-0 on Saturday and both goals scored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
