Dorussia Dourtmund Signs Jude Bellingham From Birmingham
England starlet and Birmingham City striker Jude Bellingham has completed his summer move to Borussia Dortmund from the EFL Championship side.
The Bundesliga side has for two years been monitoring the striker and that transfer interest reached its peak since their return from coronavirus pandemic break. On Monday, a long term deal that is reportedly worth £25million was confirmed between the two parties.
"I'm incredibly excited to have joined one of Europe's biggest clubs. The direction they are heading in and how much they help to improve young players made it an easy decision for myself and my family," said Jude.
The striker who turned 17-year-old last month will join his compatriot Jadon Sancho at the Bundesliga side after Birmingham City played their last match against Derby County on July 22.
Bellingham expressed his gratitude for the time spent at Birmingham since the age of seven ahead of his move to Germany, and added, "I can't wait to perform in front of all fans when they are back inside one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world."
Manchester United also showed a transfer interest in the striker but Bellingham preferred a Bundesliga move to a move to the Premier League side.
