Chelsea, Manchester United Secure Champions League Qualification

Coming into the last game of the season, Chelsea and Manchester United needed to win their opponents to get a place in the Champions League and they both managed to secure the maximum points to make the top four of the EPL table.

Frank Lampard's men seized the added minutes before the halftime break to seal a 2-0 victory against Wolverhampton and United led by the same margin against Leicester City - Brendan Rogers' men finished fifth for a place in the Europa League.

Chelsea moved in the lead on the brink of halftime from Mason Mount's brilliant finish from a 20-yard free-kick, and three minutes later, he set off Olivier Giroud with a pass and the Frenchman touched the ball past Rui Patricio before slashing in the ball for the second goal.

Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty drawn by Anthony Martial after he was brought down in the box and Jesse Lingard doubled the lead in the injury time after Schmeichel's error gifted him as scoring chance.

Both Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solksjear will be leading the teams to the Champions League on the ticket they won with the team - the first time in Lampard's coaching career.

Though Jose Mourinho's Tottenham missed out on making the Champions League, they finished in the sixth position after a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace and secured a ticket for the Europa League. Teams relegating this season are Norwich City, Watford, and Bournemouth.
