Chelsea Considering Swapping Kepa With Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak

Apparently, Kepa Arrizabalga will be leaving Standford Bridge this summer as Chelsea are reportedly considering doing a swap deal with Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak.

Unlike before, Kepa already has fallen out of favor with Chelsea and is often kept on the bench while Willy Cabellero makes the starting XI. He was in the starting lineup in the team's 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday.

Bidding for a swap deal for the goalie who has until 2023 in his contract with the Spaniards comes with a massive fee of a £120million release clause in his contract. Still, Blues are reportedly undeterred from making an approach for the Slovenian.

In other to offset the transfer for Oblak in this period that most clubs have been financially hit by the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, Blues intend to exchange Kepa with the La Liga side to help force down the price for the player who they valued at £100m according to reports.

Kepa joined Chelsea from Atletico Bilbao in 2018 in a seven-year deal of £71.6million which was a record-setting fee for a goalkeeper overturning that set by Liverpool's Alisson.
