Timo Werner: RB Leipzig Striker Agrees Deal Signing With Chelsea

Chelsea FC have officially agreed on a five-year deal signing with RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner ahead of the summer transfer window. It is now subjected to passing his medical.

Timo, who had agreed in principle on a contract of £47million with Blues early this month, will be set to leave the Bundesliga side and join his new team in July according to the club's official website. The 24-year-old becomes the second signing completed by Chelsea manager Frank Lampard after Hakim Ziyech whom he signed from Ajax in February and will resume at the club in the month as Timo.

"I am delighted to be signing for Chelsea, it is a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club. I, of course, want to thank RB Leipzig, the club and the fans, for four fantastic years," he was quoted as saying on Chelsea's official website.

Just recently, RBL manager Julian Naelsmann argued against the player's admission that he will yet play for the team in the Champions League was untrue since a deal signing has not been done with Chelsea. Now, that the remainder of the Champions League has been scheduled to restart and finish in August, Julain will not have Timo in his lineup for the competition.

Speaking about the transfer, the club's director Marina Granovskaia also confirmed the move describing the player as a rare kind who has proved and establish himself in his career and they are looking forward to having him train with the team as a team member.

"he is a player who was coveted all over Europe and it is no surprise," said Marina. "He has that rare mix of being young and exciting and yet established and proven. We can't wait to have Timo on board, but until then we wish him and RB Leipzig all the best for the rest of this season."
