Timo Werner: Chelsea Agree Deal Signing With RB Leipzig
Chelsea have taken the pole position in the race for Timo Werner's signature after a deal was agreed in principle with RB Leipzig for the player amidst interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
After Leipzig 4-2 win over FC Koln on Monday, the Nagelsmann Julian had admitted the club stands to lose the player, however, he would prefer to have him stay but there is little he could do to convince him.
"There is nothing we can do about it," said Julian in admission. "A player has to feel that he can get better. If he doesn't feel that, It wouldn't do any good if I kept on telling him to stay."
Timo who has three years remaining in his contract with a release clause of £49.4 million, set to expire on June 15, was reportedly offered a £200,000-a-week contract by Chelsea.
