Premier League: Bruno Fernandes Saves Manchester United From Defeat To Tottenham
Manchester United managed to force a draw with Tottenham after Bruno Fernandes saved the side from defeat by converting a penalty drawn by Paul Pogba late into the game.
Spurs had taken the lead from the first half after Steven Bergwijn finished off a scoring chance with a header pass from Moussa Sissoko. He dribbled in on the ball taking out Harry Maguire to make his way in the box before lashing onto the ball with a right-footed shot.
Though United had a better share of the game possession on Pogba's return to action since December and it was the Frenchman who came in a substitute in the second half that worked out the spot-kick. He did a good job dribbling into the box only to be clipped from behind by Eric Dier. Fernandes finished out the penalty awarded for the rough tackle and leveled the scores for United.
Dele Alli was close to doubling the lead for Spurs in the first half after connecting to Sissoko's cross for a header from close range but David de Gea palmed the ball over the bar.
Meanwhile, Spurs also had their moment when the referee nearly awarded a penalty to United when Dier collided with Fernandes in the box but the decision was overruled by the VAR.
