Pep Guardiola Confirms Sane Leroy Can Leave Manchester City In Summer

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City stand to lose their winger Leroy Sane in the summer transfer window as they have failed to secure a contract renewal with him.

Sane and the club have been in talks over extending his contract which has proved futile as he is keen on leaving Etihad Stadium with links to the Bundesliga side, Bayern Munich. He was ruled out of playing for the rest of the season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament at the start to the season.

"Leroy said he doesn't want to extend the contract," Guardiola confirmed. "So it means he wants to leave and it is going to happen this summer or when he is out of contract."

The 24-year-old has just a season left in his contract after which he can leave for free, rather he is hoping to move to Bayern who are already in talks with City over his transfer - the Bundesliga side has a price tag of £62million to meet with City to secure the player's signature.

Guardiola added, "The club have talked to me, they've offered two or three times to extend his contract, he (Sane) rejected so it means he wants to play in another club. If at the end of this season we arrive at an agreement with another club, he is going to leave."
