Mo Farah To Return To Track At Brussels' One-Hour Race Event

Mo Farah will be returning to track events that he quitted from three years ago and will be participating in the one-hour race at the AG Memorial Van Damme in Brussels on September 4.

Farah, a four-time Olympic gold medal winner in 5,000-metre and 10,000-metre races, won his sixth Great North Run title in September 2019. He beat Ethiopian ace Tamirat Tola to emerge as the champion by setting a new personal best in road races in 59 minutes seven seconds.

Lined up in the race to contend against the Briton is Somali/Belgian athletic ace Bashir Abdi as they both bid to upset the previous world record set for the 21.285 km race event by Ethiopian track and field legend Haile Gebrselassie in 2007.

Bashir, a veteran of Belgian cross-country race and well-decorated with multiple medals, is also a  European 10,000m silver medallist which he won in 2018.
