Mariah Carey Rescheduled Debut Album 30th Anniversary Celebration
Mariah Carey's plan to celebrate her self-styled debut album will not be happening on the scheduled date, June 12 - the date the album turns 30.
The singer would have had a fabulous celebration with her fans on Friday but would not hold for the reason of the on-going protest in the United States over the unlawful death of an unarmed citizen named George Floyd at the hands of the police.
Announcing the postponement, she wrote in a letter released on Instagram, "Thank you lambily, for all the celebratory messages for today's #MC30 anniversary! I had planned to share some surprises and rarities with you, but prefer to postpone them to a later date."
The incident has sparked huge outrage and protesters have been chanting Black Lives Matter in major cities in the United States and Europe. She cited this incident as the main reason the anniversary has to be moved to a later date.
She wrapped it up as she wrote: "As we continue to fight for equality and justice within our broken systems. I thank you for using your platform to educate, inform, and invoke change. Together let's bring on a change."
