Manchester United v Sheffield United: Anthony Martial's One-Man Show With Hattrick

Manchester United remain resolute in their quest to make the top four of the table, closing the gap with Chelsea after a 3-0 win over Sheffield United at Old Trafford. All thanks to Anthony Martial for the side's win.

Martial brought with himself into the game, his best scoring instinct that saw him brilliantly finishing three chances that sealed the victory for United. It could have even been more for the Frenchman but gave up a chance to Marcus Rashford who struck with the ball in front of an empty net.

It was the forward's first hat-trick for United and also in his career. Unfortunately for the Frenchman, the game was played without spectators who would have been thrown wide in celebration with him for his brilliant display of skills.

Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes also contributed significantly to the team's overall performance. Likewise, Rashford who inspired the first goal in the 7th minute and set Martial for the third with a through pass in the 74th minute. Martial's finishes were precise and well-aimed to beat Blades' goalkeeper Simon Moore to the goal.

There was no denial that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer was delighted the team by his choice of substitute for bringing on Ighalo Odion to replace Martial. All other key players in the frontline - Rashford, Pogba, Fernandes, and Mason Greenwood - in the game were subbed. By the way, it was 10 minutes remaining and Blades could not have staged any shocking comeback with the introduction of Juan Mata, ScottMcTominay, Daniel James to finish the game.

Chelsea now have to watch their back as the chase for a Champions League qualification has gotten tighter, a game loss is enough to throw them behind Red Devils who are yet to lose in 13 successive games.
