Lady Gaga For Sixth Time Notches #1 Spot Of Billboard Chart
In the midst of multiple situations of coronavirus pandemic and the ongoing Black Lives Matter protest in the United States and across Europe over the wrongful death of an African American at the hands of the police, Lady Gaga who has been outspoken over the brutality of the authorities soared straight away to the top spot of the Billboard Album 200.
Gaga made the feat for the first time with her newly released album 'Chromatica' after 274,000 in equivalent album unit sales according to Nielsen Music/MRC data. Making the feat made it her career sixth after her 2018's A Star Is Born.
The songstress made a regular appearance on the chart with Joanne in 2016 and made the feat again after her Super Bowl performance in 2017. Now, she broke two years hiatus to take the spot and ended Male artists' dominance of the spot with her entry.
The 34-year-old is making the most of her love life with her new boyfriend and entrepreneur Michael Polansky after she broke up with Christian Carino last year.
In the UK, Gaga also claimed the spot with 53,000 streams and album sales combined followed Sports Team which notched at #2 with Deep Down Happy after recording 4.300 in vinyl copy sale.
