GAP Enters Into 10-Year Deal With Kanye West's Yeezy Clothing Line
The sky is the limit for Kanye West in his fashion business as his Yeezy clothing line has earned him a mouth-watering deal with an American giant retailer in the clothing and accessories business. The company in question is GAP Inc and will be doing business with the rapper/fashion designer for a long time.
GAP has entered into a 10 years partnership deal with Kanye's Yeezy brand to form a new clothing line front named 'Yeezy-Gap line' with the purpose of making items such as hoodies, basics, T-shirt, and joggers. The idea is understood to be focused on attracting younger generations' patronage and Yeezy is already an established brand amongst young and adult customers.
News of the partnership deal was announced via the rapper's official Twitter account on Friday and the retailer's spokesperson as quoted by Reuters, described the deal as one that will enable the company to think "in a new way about how we can introduce the brand to new customers, new audiences."
It is understood that the 'Yeezy-Gap' deal comes with a five-year extension option according to TMZ and will start the introduction of its items into the market from 2021 with the projection generating a billion dollars in sales annually.
Early this month, the father-of-four was announced to be a billionaire by Forbes which estimated his net worth at $1.3 billion, and his Yeezy footwear and clothing line valued at £3 billion. Being such a household name in fashion, it did not take long for GAP to see the benefit of bringing on board the Kanye-own brand as its share value reportedly leaped by 42% soon after the partnership was announced.
