Forgotten Chelsea Player Joins New Team
It has been a long six-year without a single appearance at Chelsea for Mario Pasalic who since joining the club, has spent all his time on loan moves to different clubs. That has now ended after signing a permanent deal in his loan move Atalanta.
Right from Mario's signing in 2014, he was loaned to Spanish team Elche and from there to Monaco, Milan, Spartak Moscow, and finally to Atalanta where he has secured a permanent contract in his second season as a loanee.
Atalanta confirmed the signing of the 24-year-old who has scored 15 goals in 75 appearances since 2018, as they wrote in a tweet: "Mario Pasalic stays with us! Our #88 is an Atalanta player on a permanent basis!"
Chelsea have completed two major signings with Ajax's Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner. Thus, Mario does not really stand a chance in the team in the midst of regular attacking midfielders likes Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Mateo Kovacic.
With gratitude to the Croatian for his spell at the club, Chelsea confirmed his exit in a statement on its official website, "The midfielder is currently spending his second year on loan at the Italian side and will now join them permanently ahead of next season,"
Atalanta are fourth with 51 points - six points clear nearest team AS Roma - which is a comfortable position to land them a slot for a Champions League qualification next season. Presently, they are into the quarter-finals of the competition after beating Valencia in the knockout stages on an aggregate of 8-4.
