Danish Producer Alleges Travis Scott Of Rip-Off In Hit Song 'Highest In The Room'

Travis Scott's fan might find this claim strange but a music producer has slapped the rapper with an allegation that his song Highest In The Room is a rip-off.

Highest In The Room was released late last year and performed so well that it notched at the #1 spot of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is this piece of work that a Danish music producer by the name Benjamin Lasnier has slammed for sampling.

Benjamin accused the Atlanta-born rapper that the guitar melody of the song was lifted from his a clip that he posted on his IG story three times and that melody might have somehow landed in Scott's hand.

In that case, Benjamin alleged Scott and the team who made his song of "intentionally [breaking] the rules by exploiting plaintiffs work without consent or a license" for a piece of music that actually is not theirs as claimed to be.

A lawsuit has been filed on June 9 in the federal court in California by Benjamin and a number of individuals by the names Olivier Bassil and Lukas Benjamin, both of whom he works with. They are demanding that a share of the song's royalties and damages be paid to them.

The plaintiffs' lawyer Richard Busch told Billboard, "They never expected that this would end up in a lawsuit but felt they had no choice but to take this action under these circumstances."
