Chelsea: Real Madrid Drops Interest In Willian
As the Brazilian approaches the end of his contract, Real had the chance to sign him as a free agent but they do not find his demand for a three-year deal as what is feasible for the club. Thus, they chose to opt-out, leaving Arsenal and Tottenham in the race.
Staying in the Premier League and specifically in London is one top priority in Willian's choice of transfer and his agent Kia Joorabchian also revealed that he stands the chance to remain at Chelsea where his demands might be met.
"Willian wanted to sign a three-year contract to achieve things he wanted to achieve over the next three years," Joorabchian told Sky Sports.
The attacking midfielder's interest to retain at Chelsea put Arsenal and Tottenham at the risk of losing out, however, Chelsea's policy of signing players in their 30s to contract not longer than two years as mentioned by his agent gives a glimpse of hope to the two London-based clubs.
Joorabchian added, "At the moment he is a Chelsea player and has a contract with Chelsea until the season is over, so it is disrespectful to talk about him moving to other clubs."
