Champions League: UEFA Announced Revised Calendar For Remaining Matches And Venues
UEFA has confirmed a revised calendar for the remainder of the Champions League which they have squeezed into 12 days and all will be played in Lisbon, Portugal, and in Germany.
The competition has four matches remaining to play in the second-legs of the knockout stages before suspension enforced on the games over the global outbreak of coronavirus. The games remaining are Manchester City vs Real Madrid, Bayern Munich vs Chelsea, Juventus vs Lyon, and Napoli vs Barcelona.
These remaining games have been condensed to hold within two weeks in August and the second legs of the Last 16 to hold in two days between August 7 and 8.
Amongst the issues that UEFA is deliberating on is the possibility of allowing spectators to attend the games or not and according to the body's president Aleksander Ceferin, "We don't think we could have spectators at the Champions League or Europa finals, but things are changing rapidly. We will assess the situation at the beginning of July and we will see what the situation will be."
Initially, the final match was meant to hold in Instabul Turkey, now that has been changed to Lisbon Portugal. However, the finals have been squeezed to hold between August 12 and 2.
