Beyonce Drops New Single 'Black Parade'
Beyonce has taken her support for the on-going protest against police brutality in the United States of America to another leveled after dropping a new single on Friday. The demonstration which has lasted for nearly a month now was ignited by the unlawful killing of an African American named George Floyd by an officer who knelt on his neck for over 8 minutes during an arrest.
Titled Black Parade, the single happened to be the singer's first released song of the year and it is expressive of her take on the police brutality meted out to people from her community as she sings, "I'm going back to the South, where my roots ain't watered down."
She announced the release of the single in an upload to her Instagram account on Friday in celebration of Juneteenth - a date for the celebration of the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in Texas.
"Happy Juneteenth Weekend! I hope we continue to share joy and celebrate each other," captioned the update. "Even in the midst of struggle. Please continue to remember our beauty, strength and power."
