Antoine Griezmann Reveals Plans To End Career In Major League Soccer Of The United States
Antoine Griezmann has confessed that he dreams of playing in the United States sometimes down the line in his career but was not specific about which of the teams he really admire to join.
The Frenchman is a season-fresher at FC Barcelona which he joined from Atletico Madrid in a five-year contract of £108 million last season. Despite being his debut season, he trailed behind Lionel Messi and Luiz Suarez in the club's top scorers with 21 goals in 48 appearances in all competition.
Whist that sounds good, the 29-year-old is already planning where he would like to end his career, which obviously would not be any of the clubs in Europe as he revealed to the Los Angeles Times.
"I don't know with which team, but I really want to play there," he said. "For me, it's an objective to end my career in the United States with the possibility of playing well and being a big part of the team and fighting for the title."
Griezmann explained further that he hopes to move the States after he had won all that he could in Europe. Mind you, he won the 2018 Fifa World Cup with France, in the same year that he won the Champions League and Europe Super Cup with Atletico.
The striker is en route winning his career first Spanish La Liga with Barcelona and also told the American tabloid that winning the Champion League with the club is also a career "dream" for him. Then, a move to the MLS would be his next.
"Winning La Liga and the Champions League with Barcelona would be a dream, and also my objective. After that winning whatever comes. There's another World Cup so the World Cup in Qatar. And after that MLS."
