PSG Offer Kylian Mbappe New Deal With Bumper Pay To Ward Off Real Madrid, Liverpool

All hands on deck at Paris Saint Germain over keeping Kylian Mbappe at the club despite links to Liverpool and Real Madrid, a move that they are keen on stopping.

In other to ward off these two top-flight clubs, PSG have reportedly come up with a plan to increase the Frenchman's wages to the same as that of his teammate Neymar Jr. This means he will be earning as much as £600,000-a-week which is what the Brazilian currently earns at the club.

Most European clubs are undergoing serious financial serious crisis from the impact of the Covid-19 lockdown, which has forced some players and coaches to agree to wages-cut with clubs - Barcelona and Juventus have agreed to 70 percent cut with their players and coaches.

This bumper increase in wages would see the 21-year-old become the fourth highest-paid player in the world when a deal is agreed to between him and club. Getting a better offer than what PSG offered might be hard for the player who was signed for £165m from Monaco in summer as most clubs are already cash-strapped from the Covid-19 pandemic according to L'Equipe.

Keeping both Neymar and Mbappe is strategic for the Ligue 1, who has been crowned this season's champions on merit following the cancelation of the 2019/20 season over the coronavirus pandemic.

Besides Mbappe, PSG have been fending off Barcelona from resigning Neymar to Nou Camp since last season. The Spaniards made their second attempt this season and yet could not get through after the Brazilain forward was offered a new deal of £650,000-a-week to stay.
