Paris Saint-Germain Offer £51M Deal To Inter Milan For Mauro Icardi
Paris Saint-Germain have moved closer to retaining Mauro Icardi at the club after a permanent deal offer was agreed on to secure the player's complete exit from Inter Milan.
Icardi joined the Ligue 1 champions in a loan deal in September and now has until the end of May remaining in the contract before the option to retain him expires. According to Sky Sports, a fee of £45m (€50m) with add-ons of £7m has been agreed on with the Italians.
The Argentine's valuation is higher than the agreed fee but Inter may have been forced to accept the offer following the devastating impact of the coronavirus lockdown of European clubs' finances. Ligue 1 is not expected to return from the lockdown until September. Nevertheless, Lyon have called on the authorities to reconsider the cancellation of the season.
Speaking on the player's contract, Inter's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, revealed that the club is aware that the player "wants to stay at PSG" and they are "talks to make sure that happens.
