Manchester United Relaunch Interest In Bournemouth Striker Joshua King
United have been in talks with Bournemouth for the forward since January but they switched after talks collapsed to sign Nigerian international Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Shenhua on Deadline Day.
Ighalo is now set to return to the Chinese side after United failed to activate the option to keep him permanent as they could not afford his transfer fee of £20 million. The Chinese side fended United off by offering the striker a contract extension for two years that will see him earn £400,000-a-week on his return.
To replace Ighalo, United have lined up the Norwegian for signing to fill the gap the Nigerian would leave behind on his return to China in summer, according to Sky Sports.
Speaking about his link to United, Joshua told TV2 that he could not explain why talks between both clubs failed in January. As for him, however, he has faith that someday a deal will happen for him to rejoin United which was the first Premier League team he signed to.
"How close it was I have no complete answer to. I have to watch what I say," Joshua recalled failed transfer talks with United. "I had some faith that it was going to happen,"
