LeBron James Says He Is Ready To Play

Los Angeles forward LeBron James is confident that the 2019/20 season can still run its course despite the long break forced upon the sport by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lakers occupied the top spot of the Western Conference before the break which was meant to be their first appearance in the playoffs in four years, and that was part of the reason the franchise's former manager Luke Walton was sacked after failing to lead the team to the stages in three consecutive seasons.

The NBA has been suspended for more than three months now over the global outbreak of the killer bug and some franchises are just beginning to open their training facilities for a voluntary workout.

James opened up on his take on the possibilities of returning to the court from break in a discussion on Uninterrupted - WRTS: After Party show on Monday, he maintained that he is "definitely not giving up on the season" in spite of the interruption.

"Not only myself and my teammates, the Lakers organization, we want to play. There are a lot of players that I know personally that want to play."

There is a possibility that the game will be played in closed doors just as in soccer when the restriction is lifted which the four-time NBA MVP opposed before the game was fully suspended on March 11.

Having a concern for the impact that will have on spectators' health, he clarified: "Obviously, we don't want to jeopardize the health of any of our players and any of the players' families and so on and so on."
