Italian Serie A To Resume Training Next Week

Serie A clubs are gearing up to return to the training pitch as the country is set to relax lockdown rules on football following an official statement released by the government.

Italy is one of the countries worst hit by the coronavirus and recorded one of the highest victims before the United States becomes the new epicentre after China where the killer bug was first detected.

The country's interior minister, Matteo Piantedosi, confirmed in a statement that the lockdown will be relaxed to allow "athletes and non-athletes" to train outdoors and respecting the two meters social distancing order.

"Athletes and non-athletes of non-individual disciplines, like every citizen, are allowed to participate in individual sports in public or private area, respecting the interpersonal safety distance of at least two meters," Matteo's statement reads in a communique released.

Unlike Ligue 1, Serie A can not crown Juventus as winners as they are closely trailed Lazio by just a points difference. Otherwise, the season's fate could have been decided just as Ligue 1 crowned PSG on merit had Juventus led the table by a good margin.
