Formula One: Daniel Riccardio Anticipates Chaotic First Race

Renault Racing Team driver, Daniel Ricciardo, is anticipating that the season's first race might turn out to be chaotic over an "adrenalin" rush because of the length of time drivers have not been in their cars for the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

Australian Grand Prix which was meant to be the season opener was canceled when a member of McLaren Racing Team was tested positive for coronavirus symptoms. The season is now expected to resume on 3-5 July in Austria.

The seven-time podium topper explained his reasons during an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live that he believes the "adrenalin" rush will be caused by "excitement and eagerness" of getting back of the grid after a long break.

"[There] will be some form of chaos, hopefully in a controlled manner," he said. "There is going to be so much rust, a combination of emotion, excitement, eagerness."

Daniel finished in the ninth position last season in his debut season with Renault which signed him to a two-year contract from Red Bull. He was replaced with Pierre Gasly from Toro Rosso by his former team.

He went further to explain, "You are going to get some guys who performed on that level of adrenalin and others who might not. So, you're going to get some bold overtakes, some miscalculated ones."
