Former Arsenal Player Sides With Pierre Emerick Aubameyang To Leave
As Arsenal are yet uncertain about which way to take on the future of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who is poised to leave the club with a link to Real Madrid, its former player Lukas Podolski believes it will be better to sell him and raise fund from his transfer.
Aubameyang's desire to leave is not only an opinion he chose by himself but also under pressure from the FA of his home country Gabon which president has urged him to sort for a more ambitious team. He even might have deemed it time to leave having turned down an offer to extend his contract with Arsenal.
Barcelona and Chelsea are also among teams that have linked to the Gabonese before Real Madrid joined the race and are poling for his signature in summer whilst Arsenal are yet unsure of the possibilities of holding him down to a new contract.
"If he has a dream to play for this club [suggesting Real Madrid] when he's young, then why not? As a player, you have to take this chance to play for a club like that," Podolski told Sky Sports.
There is not much time left in the forward's contract with Arsenal and if he remained at the club until next summer he will be leaving as a free agent as his contract must have expired by then.
"Of course, for Arsenal, It'll be a big loss if they have to sell him but this is the business of football," the retired forward explained. "For a player like me or Aubameyang, when a big club is calling, you always want to have this dream."
