Bundesliga: Jadon Sancho Scores First Career Hat-trick In Borussia Dortmund 6-1 Win Against Paderborn
Jadon Sancho has recorded his first career hat-trick in Borussia Dortmund's 6-1 win against SC Paderborn 07 as the team closed the gap against table leaders Bayern Munich by seven points.
The goal margin could have been much bigger as Borussia failed to convert many scoring chances which Paderborn's goalkeeper Leopold Zingerle played a good role at saving the team from a humbling defeat.
After goalless halftime, the second half witnessed seven goals with Paderborn scoring their only goal from a penalty converted by Uwe Hunemeier after Thorgan Hazard and Jadon had put Borussia in the lead by two goals.
Borussia responded within two minutes to Hunemeier's spot-kick and added in the third goal from Jadon's strike from close range followed by two more goals from Achraf Hakimi and Marcel Schmelzer before the English winger wrapped it up with the sixth in the added minutes.
The hat-trick scored by Jadon made him the first player from England to score a hat-trick outside of the country in a top-flight European league in 31 years. The 20-year-old was booked for celebrating his first goal for pulling off his shirt to show off an underwear with "Justice for George Floyd" print on.
Borussia risked losing the England starlet in summer as he is linked to a Premier League move with Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea racing for his signature.
