The Portuguese center-back was amongst players requested by Inter Milan in exchange for Martinez with a £50 million price tag from Barcelona. Having joined Juventus, his transfer has helped Nou Camp raised funds which increases their chances of meeting up with Inter's demands for the Argentine who deemed fit to replace Luiz Suarez.
Inter manager Maurizio Sarri already has a plan to replace Pjanic with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, a transfer that both clubs are in talks over after the Brazilian favoured a reunion with his former boss rather than Paris Saint Germain.
