Tom Cruise's Film 'Top Gun: Maverick' To Finish Production Despite COVID-19 Lockdown
Despite having to move the release date of Top Gun: Maverick forward over the global outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, the film director has confirmed that production will be finishing as originally planned.
Top Gun director Joseph Kosinski told ComicBook.com that he and his crew were able to meet up with the production deadline because he was already at the tail end of the production. After that, what will be left for him is just to wait for six months for the film to be seen in the cinemas.
"We're sticking to our schedule and finishing the movie just as if it were coming out on its original release date," Kosinski said. "Luckily, I'm in the home stretch of post-production where, despite all the restrictions of how you can work now, I'm able to continue doing my job and finish the movie."
The film's lead actor Tom Cruise will be reprise for his role Maverick and most of the original casts will be reprising their role as well. Two teasers had already been released in the lead to its release date which has now been postponed until December.
Kosinski explained further that it would not have been possible had they been in any other phase of production but because it was already in the "tail-end of the post", that made it a lot easier.
