Paris Saint Germain To Retain Mauro Icardi After Completing Loan Spell In Summer

Paris Saint Germain have had a change of mind over Mauro Icardi and are ready to retain the striker to a permanent come in summer when he must have completed his loan spell.

There were speculations that the Argentine was going to leave Paris following comments from his wife but that soon changed and the player is ready to stay even longer at the club and that led PSG to want to keep him at the club permanently according to Corriere Dello Sport.

In Icardi's loan deal from Inter Milan to the Ligue 1 side is an option to retain for £63 million (€70m) and they are reportedly ready to trigger the clause to keep him. Meanwhile, the forward's spell had been impactive with 20 goals in 31 appearances in all competition.

The need to retain the forward is necessary for the club as they stand to lose Neymar Jr. to Barcelona as the Spaniards remained keen to have the Brazilian back in summer and Kylian Mbappe is yet another player who they stand to lose to Real Madrid.

Mbappe is linked to Real Madrid and PSG are having a hard time renewing his contract as the Frenchman is yet to yield to the call. There have been a couple of instances that the forward has indicated his affinity for the Spaniards but has yet to make that official.
