Odion Ighalo Confirms Interest To Remain At Manchester United
United have a couple players like Jadon Sancho and Harry Kane linked to them for signing in summer, but the Nigerian international has proved him to be worth retaining, after playing a vital role in the team's unbeaten run that lasted through eleven games before the league and other competitions were suspended over the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Chinese side, which loaned Ighalo to United on transfer Deadline Day in January, have offered him a two-year contract of £400,000-a-week wages in a bid to wade off United from retaining Ighalo. However, should United want to keep him, they would let him go if they will cough out a transfer fee of £15 million.
Amidst that pull from the Chinese side with a bumper increase in his wages, Ighalo wasted no time to reveal his interest in United when a fan asked him if he would yet stay at the club if they gave a chance. Ighalo answered the fan in two words, "of course" to affirm his desire to stay on in the Premier League.
The former Watford striker has been tipped as a player worthy of retaining by some sports pundits including former United striker Dimitar Berbatov, who believes it will a good move for the club if the player can sustain his present scoring form through his loan spell.
Since his arrival in January, Ighalo has scored four goals in eight appearances in all competitions and his effort has been praised by his manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer for boosting the team's aggression at scoring goals.
