Lautaro Martinez Rejects Inter Milan's New Contract Offer In Favour Of Move To Barcelona

Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez is set for a move to a move to Nou Camp in summer after rejecting a new contract with his club amidst link to Barcelona.

Martinez reportedly stands to get £3.5 million net in wages per season from the new contract he turned down, but that is way lesser than what Barcelona are ready to pay him per season should he agree to a deal with them.

Despite the offer of £8.8m net pay per year, Barcelona are aware that the Argentine forward is not only linked to them as Manchester City and Chelsea are also keeping a close watch on him with the interest of securing an agreement with him for a contract reportedly worth as much as that of Barca.

Meanwhile, Inter has a worry over Martinez leaving in summer as they stand to lose on his buyout clause which will have canceled out on July 15 when he can leave the club, but the season is expected to last longer than it should following the coronavirus outbreak which has caused season-ending date to be pushed back.

Barca are in need of a player who would fit in with playing alongside Lionel Messi and the Argentine is one that poles in their consideration since both players are compatriots.

At the same time, Barca are in talks with Paris Saint Germain over resigning Neymar Jr. and are offering Antoine Griezmann in exchange. They have been on Neymar since last summer and PSG have been resilient on keeping the Brazilian.
