German Bundesliga Might Resume On May 9

Football suspension in German Bundesliga may be lifted next month if the country's government gave its consent to the return of league games.

Germany has substantially been able to bring the spread of coronavirus under control and there have been speculations that football games might return on May 9 only that league officials are waiting on the government's approval.

The league's chief executive Christian Seifert clarified on game resumption that lifting the suspension is not in their capacity and the best they can do is to "offer the framework condition" for it.

Seifert also added that though it is their determination to ensure they finish the 2019/2020 season and they want to avoid causing a "collateral damage" to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Germany is nearly coming out of the tunnel and the government has announced it will kick off its first trial test of coronavirus vaccine on Thursday.
