Chelsea In Talks With Antonio Rudiger For Contract Extension
Chelsea are reportedly in talks with their defender Antonio Rudiger for a contract extension that will see him remain at Stanford Bridge for much longer than he currently has.
Rudiger joined Blues in a move set at £31.5 million from the Italian Serie A side, AS Roma in 2017 and has proven to be effective in the club. Despite just returning from a groin injury in December, the German has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season.
The contract extension will keep the 27-year-old at the club until 2023 with an option for a year extension. Meanwhile, he has until 2022 in his current contract with Blues.
Blues are in the fourth position with 48 points in the EPL table before the league games and other European football competitions were suspended over the coronavirus outbreak which has claimed many lives.
