Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies Gets Two-Year Contract Extension
Bayern Munich has extended Alphonso Davies' contract for two more years which implies the defender will remain at the club until 2025.
The Canadian was signed to Bayern in 2016 from Vancouver Whitecaps FC in a deal that should last until 2023 for a fee of £13.5 million. He was at the time 16-year-old. He made his senior team debut in January 2019 against Borussia Monchengladesh in the final of the Telekom Cup Championship.
"I am very happy. FC Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world, and for me, it's a dream come true to play here," the 19-year-old said in a statement.
He has made 29 appearances in all this season before football suspension over coronavirus lockdown. However, he added in his statement that his motivation for joining the club is because they are title-driven with the "mentality of always wanting to win everything".
