Barcelona Beef Up Bid For Lautaro Martinez By Offering Inter Milan Players In Exchange

Barcelona have intensified their transfer bid for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez by offering players in exchange for him in their quest to secure his move to Nou Camp in summer.

Neymar Jr. was previously in Barca's priority list for a return to the club as a suitable replacement for Luiz Saurez but that is beginning to seem like an impossible mission as Paris Saint Germain have offered to extend the Brazilian's contract by two years plus £640,000-a-week in wages in an effort to keep him.

Since Barcelona's chance of landing a deal with Neymar is facing a strong challenge from PSG, they are reportedly offering Inter three players - Nelson Semedo and Carles Alena - to pick from in exchange for the Argentine striker.

It is understood that Inter wanted Brazilian midfielder Arthur in the deal but Barcelona declined their request but can let go of Semedo and also Carles Alena who is on loan to Real Betis.

The move to do an exchange is necessary for Barcelona because of their inability to meet up with Martinez's transfer fee as he has a buyout clause of £97m (€100m). The La Liga giants' finances have been badly affected by football suspension over the COVID-19 pandemic.
