Shanghai Shenhua Offer Manchester United Forward Odion Ighalo £400,000-a-week Deal
Manchester United will have some challenges to keep Odion Ighalo at Old Trafford after the expiration of his loan deal in summer as his parent club Shanghai Shenhua has offered him two years contract extension with wages increase.
Ighalo joined United in the January transfer window in a loan move that was meant to end on May 31st but was extended by a month following the Covid-19 virus outbreak which has led to the cancelation of league fixtures across Europe.
The new deal will see Ighalo's spell at the Chinese side extended until 2024 - mind you, his current contract expires in December 2022 - and also comes with a pay rise of £100,000 which in effect brings his wages to a total of £400,000-a-week.
There have been calls to keep the Nigerian international at Old Trafford for his performance at the club which has helped the side get through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and also closer to securing the Europa League title - he scored the opening in 5-0 win over LASK in the first-leg tie of the competition.
